Northern Plains Vegetable Variety Testing
The Farm Breeding Club has received grant funding through the USDA to increase access to superior varieties of selected market classes of vegetable varieties suited to local direct-to-consumer markets.
Replicated variety trials will be done at NDSU in Fargo, ND as well as vegetable farms throughout North Dakota. Some of the traits that will be looked at are heat tolerance, cold soil germination, taste, appearance and earliness.
