SUMMARY:South Dakota Crunch Off
DESCRIPTION:The South Dakota Crunch Off is an annual statewide event celebrating local produce and farm to school by crunching into any South Dakota-grown fruit or vegetable. Anyone can participate. Simply create a crunch team\, source locally grown fruits or vegetables\, crunch into them with your team\, and post a photo or video crunching to social media with #SoDakCrunch. Register your teams’ crunches (either before or after your event) to count towards the South Dakota total. \nThe South Dakota Crunch Off will run September 18-October 13th. This fun\, annual event promotes nutrition education and healthy eating while supporting local agriculture. \nOrganize your group (such as a community group\, club\, or friends and family)\, source local produce (such as from a community garden\, personal garden\, or farmers market)\, and bite into the local fruit or vegetable together for a photo. \nRegister your crunches\, download supplemental materials (trivia\, crunch crown craft\, bingo\, word search\, crosswords\, lesson plans\, and a photo sign)\, and learn more on SDSU Extension’s S.D.
