SUMMARY:Farm Breeder Network
DESCRIPTION:The Farm Breeding Network (FBN) brings farmers\, chefs\, processors\, and eaters together to share knowledge and seed stock for seed saving\, crop breeding and fellowship. This NPSAS committee gives farmers the information and discussion group they need in order to participate as partners in public plant breeding and to take on their own breeding projects at home. This committee seeks to support public plant breeding and to revive a long tradition of seed saving and on farm breeding to ensure the availability of adapted and productive varieties. The FBN also seeks to maintain breeding and seed saving rights for farmers\, the original plant breeders. \nCommittee members determine FBN projects and goals. Farmers are connecting with one another and with researchers to actively improve\, save and share seeds. We are also linking with groups and individuals worldwide to build farmer-centric plant breeding and seed networks. \nThe zoom link for these meetings is sent via email each month to those interested in attending. If you’d like to participate in this event and be notified of this monthly event moving forward\, send an email to the NPSAS director at this address. \nIf you’d like to learn more about the Farm Breeder Network check out this page on our website.
