Our USDA may not be interested in organic methods\, but the rest of the world is listening and shaping their climate-friendly policies around these poison-free practices. DESCRIPTION:2023 OGRAIN Organic Grain Conference will be held Friday\, February 2 through Saturday\, February 3rd with an optional Regenerative Organic Event Thursday\, February 1st. UW-Madison’s OGRAIN program provides resources and support for new\, transitioning\, and experienced organic grain farmers throughout the upper Midwest. \nFarmers interested in organic row-crop production and those interested in food-grade grain production should plan to attend the eighth annual conference. Attendees will have eighteen workshop sessions available for a variety of topics from equipment to dry beans\, including a roundtable and happy hour session. Similar to last year\, we are partnering with the Artisan Grain Collaborative to have specific sessions dedicated to food-grade grain processing\, handling\, and cultivating.

DESCRIPTION:The country’s largest university-sponsored organic conference will return Nov. 27 at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. DESCRIPTION:Learn about the transition to organic farming journey along with conservation tips at this can’t miss field day. This UDSA Transition to Organic Partnership event is co-sponsored by ACRES USA & NPSAS to give farmers in the area hands-on demonstrations and up-close views of organic and sustainable agriculture practices.  Couple that with the ability to network and hear how other farmers have made the transition to organic farming practices makes this a MUST ATTEND event for anyone who is interested in improving their farm operation and/or considering a transition to farm in a more environmentally friendly way. \nThis free event has participants spending the morning learning and lunch at Menoken Farm beginning at 8:00 am.  After lunch the field day will migrate to Dockter Organics for a tour of this organic farm operation\, presentations\, and Q & A with organic farmer\, Thane Dockter\, both locations are near Menoken\, ND.
