DESCRIPTION:The NPSAS Board of Directors will meet via zoom starting at 8:00 am\, usually on the 3rd Thursday of the month with a goal to last one hour or less\, but not more than two. If you have ideas or suggestions that you think would benefit the member of this organization or items you’d like the board to discuss send an email to the NPSAS Director or send a message\, text\, or call a board member. \nIf you’re interested in serving on the NPSAS board\, let us know or submit this NPSAS board member application. Elections are in January of each year and there are three positions open each January at the annual meeting held at the NPSAS Food and Farming Conference.

DESCRIPTION:Join the learning with those who have been providing professionally led organic agriculture research in North Dakota for many years. The 2025 NDSU Carrington Research Center Field Day will be held on July 22\, 2025 starting at 9:00 am. A number of great topics will be covered including but not limited to: \nMorning Session from 9:30 – 12:00 will include topics including: \n\nEquipment for organic farming & Understanding and enhancing soil health\, how to assess it using key indicators\, and practical ways to improve and sustain it.\nConsiderations for using manure and compost in organic farms\n Regenerative and agricultural sustainability incentive programs for organic producers \nFarm risk management – strategies to safeguard your organic operation \nPrecision agriculture for organic farming: demonstration of emerging smart technologies for organic crop production \nCurrent and future organic research initiatives\, including soil health\, crop rotation\, intercropping\, weed management\, variety trials\, and more.\n\n12:00 – LUNCH – provided with thanks to additional sponsors Northern Canola Growers Association and North Central Sustainable Ag Research and Education (SARE).  \n1:00 pm – 3:00 pm – The afternoon session will focus on organic transition (If you’d also like to attend the afternoon session\, please complete the short form below.) \n\nThe organic TOPP mentorship program\nHow to perform your own soil testing\nSoil Health: A deep dive into best practices and strategies learned in organic research and farmer-led experience\n\nMore information on all the field day’s going on that day can be found on the NDSU Carrington Research Center website.
