Doug & Anna Jones-Crabtree
Doug and Anna will share their story of struggles and successes as first-generation farmers. Nationally known organic, dryland crop farmers in Northern Hill County, Montana, Doug and Anna grow a diverse array of organic heirlooms & specialty crops. With a 5-7 year crop rotation, 26% of managed land in pollinator-friendly conservation, & over 20 unique crops grown, Vilicus Farms strives to promote diversity & resilience across its landscape.
Gary Zimmer
Gary Zimmer is one of the founders of Midwestern Bio Ag, also known as the “ father of Biological Agriculture. “ Zimmer is an internationally known author, speaker, and consultant. He has authored three books on Biological farming, plus numerous articles on soils and livestock nutrition. He is bringing decades of experience and know-how to the team to pioneer a sustainable approach to farming in the best interests of farmers, consumers and communities.
Nate Powell-Palm
Nate will share how he grew his business from the ground up without debt and recruited customers that include some of the largest food companies in the country. He grew his operation over the years from 40 acres to over 1500 and transitioned ground in three different ways. He will share which transition strategy proved most successful. In addition, he will map out how America can revitalize rural communities by attracting young people back to the farm.
