Each year NPSAS gives away two awards to members of the organization during the annual winter conference. The Steward of the Year award is given to an organic farmer and/or rancher who is a conscientious steward of the land and all that inhabits it. The Friend of the Farmer award is given to an NPSAS member who supports our farmer/rancher members through dedicated work in enhancing the sustainability of our agricultural, food, and distribution systems in the Northern Plains.
