The Future of Agriculture

Join us at the Johnson Family Organic Farm in Madison South Dakota on August 13, for their 2026 field day from Organic Certification to Sustainability. For 50 years the Johnson family has been farming organically, long before it was a commonly known practice. Learn from their years of experience and how they have created a rotation of crops and systems to help keep their operation sustainable for the next generation. 

Speaking of the next generation. One of the great things about the Johnson Family Farm is the multi-generational aspect of the operation. How have they successfully brought in the next generations of farmers and worked together as a family which in many cases, can be difficult. Hear how they approached and brought in the next generation.

In addition to the tour, a panel of Future Farmers of America state officers will be joining to give their perspective on the future of farming.  Join us for an engaging conversation on how they see the farms of today compared to the farms of tomorrow starting at St. Peter on the Prairie.
