Transition to Organic PaNPSAS is looking forward to hosting a field day in Clarksfield, MN with the passionate staff of Century Organic Farm. As farmers themselves, the team at Century farm are also providers of equipment, seed, lime spreading and other organic farming services.
Join us for insightful information on soil health, equipment, and hear about what works and what hasn’t for this devoted organic team.
This is a USDA Transition to Organic Farm Production (TOPP) event of the Plains Region .

Johnson Farm From Organic Certification to Sustainability
Join us at the Johnson Family Organic Farm in Madison South Dakota on August 13, for their 2026 field day from Organic Certification to Sustainability. For 50 years the Johnson family has been farming organically, long before it was a commonly known practice. Learn from their years of experience and how they have created a rotation of crops and systems to help keep their operation sustainable for the next generation.
Speaking of the next generation. One of the great things about the Johnson Family Farm is the multi-generational aspect of the operation. How have they successfully brought in the next generations of farmers and worked together as a family which in many cases, can be difficult. Hear how they approached and brought in the next generation.
In addition to the tour, a panel of organic specialists will present information and insight on the various stages of certification, transition, and marketing. Join us starting at St. Peter on the Prairie for the day including a lunch with conversation and networking with other farmers, soil specialists, marketing professionals, and more. So You’re Thinking about Going Organic – by David Vetter
Join Pioneer organic farmer, David Vetter for a presentation for anyone who has thought about going organic, is in the process of converting to organic, or is part of a newly transitioned and fully certified organic farm. This program will focus on thinking about and preparing for transitioning to organic. In order for us to address as many questions as possible, participants are encouraged to submit questions ahead of time.
